Wellness consultation
A twenty-five minute nose-to-tail examination with weight, dental and pain scoring, plus a written care plan for the next six months.
FAUNA is a small-animal clinic and wellness studio for dogs, cats and exotics — unhurried consults, same-visit diagnostics, a cat-only waiting bay, and an emergency team that never sends you across Pune at 2 in the morning.
Bleeding, seizures, bloat, snake bite, hit-by-vehicle, laboured breathing, no urine for 12 hours. Our emergency bay is staffed round the clock, 365 days — including Diwali and Ganpati.
Every first consult is booked for twenty-five minutes. Not eight.
We opened on Nyati Empress Road in 2015 because Pune’s pet parents deserved somewhere that felt less like a corridor and more like care. Non-slip floors. Pheromone diffusers. A separate feline entrance so a cat never has to sit nose-to-nose with a Labrador. The medicine is serious; the room is calm.
You are met at the door, not at a counter. Cats go left into the feline bay; dogs go right. Nervous patients can wait in the car — we WhatsApp you when the room is free.
A full nose-to-tail examination, weight, pain scoring and, where needed, bloods, X-ray or ultrasound in the same visit. No second trip across town for a lab report.
You get a written plan with options and costs before anything begins. If a case needs a specialist referral, we say so plainly and help you get there.
A vet messages you at 48 hours to ask how the recovery is going. Vaccination and deworming reminders arrive on WhatsApp so nothing slips.
Preventive medicine, dentistry, surgery, imaging, exotics and a grooming spa — run by the same team that knows your animal’s history. Prices below are indicative starting points; your written estimate always comes first.
A twenty-five minute nose-to-tail examination with weight, dental and pain scoring, plus a written care plan for the next six months.
Core and non-core protocols for dogs and cats, imported vaccines kept on a monitored cold chain, with WhatsApp reminders before every booster.
Ultrasonic scaling, polishing, dental radiographs and extractions with full anaesthetic monitoring — the single most under-treated problem we see in Pune.
Digital radiography, abdominal and cardiac ultrasound, ECG, and a pathology bench that turns most bloodwork around inside forty minutes.
Spay and neuter, mass removals, wound reconstruction and selected orthopaedics, with isoflurane anaesthesia, warmed tables and overnight nursing.
Dedicated exotic clinics on Tuesdays and Fridays — rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, budgerigars and cockatiels, in a quiet room away from dogs.
Tell us the species, the build and the age. We generate the schedule our vets would write on paper — what is already due, what is coming, how often to deworm and groom, and roughly what a year of good preventive care costs in Pune. Then save it straight into a booking.
This planner follows commonly used WSAVA-style guidance adapted for Indian conditions. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a prescription — our vets confirm every schedule against your pet’s records and health status.
Indicative Viman Nagar pricing for routine preventive care only. Illness, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics and medication are billed separately against a written estimate.
You can request the same vet every single visit — continuity matters more than most clinics admit. Each of them holds a BVSc & AH and is registered with the Maharashtra State Veterinary Council.
Twelve years in small-animal medicine. Endocrine cases, geriatric dogs and the long, patient work of managing chronic kidney disease in cats.
Nine years operating. Soft-tissue and selected orthopaedic work, plus every dental extraction that walks through our door.
Seven years with rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and birds — and a queue of Pune cat parents who will not see anyone else.
Fourteen years of clippers. Breed trims, double-coat de-shedding and the patience to spend an hour on one anxious Shih Tzu.
Pick the service, pick the person, pick the slot. Your booking lands on our WhatsApp with everything already filled in — no forms, no hold music, no “we’ll call you back”.
Not sure? Choose a wellness consultation — we will redirect from there at no extra charge.
Returning patients: choosing the same vet keeps the history in one head.
Sundays are emergency-only. Slots shown are live for the next fortnight.
We send a WhatsApp confirmation with directions and parking instructions.
Consultation fee only. Medication, diagnostics and procedures are quoted separately and always confirmed with you first.
No cages, no forced drying, no sedation. One groomer, one animal, start to finish — and a photo on WhatsApp the moment they are done. Build a basket below and send it straight to us.
Air-conditioned rooms, four supervised play sessions a day, and a clinician doing rounds every morning and evening. Two photo updates a day on WhatsApp, because we know you will ask.
Exotic boarding ₹600 per night. All boarders need core vaccination within twelve months, kennel cough within six, and a tick-free coat on arrival — we can do all three here the same week.
Check boarding datesSeparate entrance, separate waiting bay, separate consulting room with a raised examination surface and pheromone diffusers running all day. Carriers go on the table, never the floor. We handle with towels, not scruffs, and we will happily examine a cat inside her own basket if that is where she feels safest.
“Half of feline medicine is arriving at a diagnosis before the animal is too stressed to be examined. Everything we designed here buys us those extra four minutes of calm.” Dr. Meghana Kulkarni · Clinical Director
Patients from Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Kalyani Nagar, Wadgaon Sheri and Koregaon Park — photographed on discharge day, on their annual booster visit, or fresh out of the spa.

My indie, Kaju, was hit by a bike outside Phoenix at 11 at night. I called and they were ready with a stretcher before I parked. Dr. Arnav operated at 1am and messaged me a photo at 6. Eleven weeks later he is running again.
Pippa hides for two days after any vet visit. Not here. The cat entrance is a genuinely different experience — she was examined inside her own carrier and walked out like nothing happened.
I used the vaccine planner at midnight because I could not remember when Ginger’s last booster was. It told me exactly what was overdue and I had an appointment confirmed on WhatsApp in under a minute.
Three groomers before this refused my Husky. Sanket did the full de-shed in two hours, no sedation, and sent me a video of him falling asleep on the table. The bill was exactly what was quoted.
Finding someone in Pune who actually treats rabbits is nearly impossible. Dr. Faiza spotted Basil’s overgrown molars in five minutes and explained the whole thing with a diagram. He is eating hay again.
We boarded Laila for nine days over Diwali, which we were dreading. Two photos a day, a vet round every morning, and she came home calmer than when we left her. Worth every rupee.
You never need a membership to be seen here — consults are ₹700 and everything is billed as you go. But if your pet is on a normal preventive schedule, these bundles cost less than paying visit by visit.
The first year, from eight weeks to the first annual booster.
The everyday adult plan for dogs and cats aged one to eight.
From eight years on, when twice-yearly screening starts to matter.
Surgical and diagnostic work is always quoted in writing before it begins. If a case is beyond what we can safely do here, we say so and refer you on — you are not charged for that conversation.
Free covered parking for eight cars at the rear, with a ramp for trolleys and older dogs. The 4/4A buses stop at Viman Nagar Chowk, a four-minute walk away.

Get the pinEmergencies never need an appointment — walk in at any hour and you will be triaged immediately.
For everything else we strongly prefer a booked slot, because that is how we protect the twenty-five minutes each consult gets. Walk-ins are seen between booked patients, so expect a wait of thirty to sixty minutes on a busy evening.
Difficulty breathing, collapse, seizures lasting over two minutes, uncontrolled bleeding, a swollen hard abdomen, suspected poisoning, snake or dog bite, road accident, straining to urinate with nothing passing, whelping trouble, or heatstroke.
If you are unsure, use the triage checklist on this page or simply call. We would far rather see an animal that turns out to be fine than miss one that is not. Our vets will assess and advise — nothing here replaces an in-person examination.
Yes, and please bring the card or a clear photo of it. We will read the dates, work out what is genuinely due, and continue from there rather than restarting a course unnecessarily.
The planner on this page gives you a good estimate in the meantime, but our vets confirm every schedule against the actual record before anything is given.
No, not as routine. Our groomer is Fear-Free certified and works one animal at a time, with breaks. Most anxious dogs settle within twenty minutes.
In rare cases — a severely matted coat causing pain, or a genuinely dangerous struggle — a vet may recommend light sedation for welfare reasons. That is a clinical decision, discussed and consented to with you first, never a shortcut.
UPI, all cards and cash. Surgical and diagnostic work is quoted in writing before it starts, and we ask for a deposit on procedures over ₹15,000.
We work with the major Indian pet insurers and will complete the claim paperwork for you, though settlement terms are between you and the insurer.
Almost always, yes — most animals are calmer with their person there, and we would rather you saw exactly what we are doing.
The exceptions are radiography, where radiation rules keep you outside the room, and the occasional patient who is genuinely more settled without an audience. We will tell you honestly which one applies.
Yes. We keep four subsidised emergency slots a week for community animals brought in by feeders and rescuers in Viman Nagar and Lohegaon, and we run a free anti-rabies drive on the first Sunday of every month.
If you feed a colony, tell reception — we will register you so the paperwork does not slow anything down when it matters.
No. It is an estimator built on commonly used vaccination guidance adapted for Indian conditions, and it assumes a healthy animal with an ordinary history.
Real schedules change with maternal antibody levels, past reactions, illness, pregnancy and local disease pressure. Please treat the output as a conversation starter and consult our doctors before acting on it.
Most slots open at 9am the same morning. If it cannot wait, the emergency bay never closes.
